Buying comics online?

I'm trying to complete my collection of Beavis and Butthead comics I currently need 11,12,13,14,15,16,17,21 and 27. Can anyone recommend a website other than ebay and milehighcomics.com?

Thanks.

for a run like that you might try www.eastcoastcomics.com but I haven't used them for a few years now. They were good for me back in high school though.

I've had great experiences buying from http://www.wizardworld.com (just a person to person site like eBay or half.com).

You can find just about everything, usually much lower than book prices (at least for comics that aren't hot), and if you can find the same seller for most of the comics you will save on shipping.

Recommend me a place to buy comics and trades

I've been looking at the tfaw.com site and sometimes it is rough trying to find titles i'm looking for... so i'm looking to the few wise book forum people to recommend some places for me. I want to find a place where i can find out whether something is going to be collected in a trade or not - i also want a place i can order trades from and maybe even some back issues.

My local comic shop is cool with some of the stuff but they don't carry that many trades so if i could find an online source as well i would be very happy. So i need some true believers to help me out

mycomicshop.com

I've never actually placed an order with them, but they seem to have a fairly wide selection of trades.

If you do order, report back with how their service was.

Hope that helped.

25% discount on trades and GNs, 30% off of pre-ordered comics. Never used this store myself, but I've read a lot of good things about it.

Amazon is also a good option, with their 30% discount on books over $15.00. Free shipping, too, if you order $25 or more.

Good source for more obscure/indie/foreign titles.

http://www.budplant.com

Good selection of obscure/import/out of print items.

http://www.mailordercomics.com

Subscription service. 35% off of most items.

Please help me find a place to buy some comic books!

I know there are some threads about places to buy comic books, but I am having trouble finding what I want. I know nothing about comic books, but there are two that I would to get. The comic book websites are confussing and hard to navigate. I am looking for:

The Hedge Knight series, I think that the series starts in August

The new Justice League/Avengers crossover series

I would like to get these for as cheap as I can and I don't have a comic book store close to me. Thanks for your help.

They offer most comics at 35% off. Plus, they can set you up pretty easily with a subscription. Just email them with any questions you may have. I just recently went the way of mail order comics because the last comic book store near me closed.

Geez do you guys live in the boonies or something where there aren't any comic book stores around?

I don't read comics anymore, but I have a question about this subscription thing. Do the comics come protected somehow? When I get my magazines in the mail, they're always beaten up and sometimes torn.

Heh, not the boonies, but the way some of the high school kids in town complain, one would think so. The one decent comic book store just went out of business (one week he discovered he didn't have enough money to cover the next week's order). There's one other one, but it really blows.

It depends on the place you order from, but some places will give you the option of having the comics bagged and boarded before sending them out, at extra cost of course. But it's not like they just stick the comics in an envelope and send them off. Big orders are in boxes with packing material, smaller ones are in flat envelopes and are surrounded by cardboard on both sides so you get them in pretty good shape.

I've had a few that arrived with minor creases but nothing to complain about. It's not like the next issue of JLA or Amazing is gonna skyrocket in value or something

Where do you buy your comics?

Where do you buy your comics online? Or do you only go to the store?

What's your favorite comic book artists search engine?

Thanks.

I'm lucky enough to run a comic book store so I don't have to pay for a thing

Oh, & why would you post this in the DVD forum?

I usually pick them up for local dealers for about .50 to a buck below cover price.

Though there is many comic shops in the area. Golden Apple, Comic Factory come to mind.

Subscribing to Comic books.

does anyone subscribe direct from Marvel,DC, and other comic companies? I used to see the order form in the back of the comiccomics but everyone I know orders from comic shops.

Why?

I like my comics to be in pristine shape, so I buy at the shop.

I've heard bad things about marvel's subscription service, IE really late, and damaged books. I did have a subscription to LODK from DC, but that was 10 years ago.

My advice would either be to get a pull list from a LCS, preferably one that offers a discount if you do. Or try one of the online subscription service. They usually offer huge discounts, and come bagged and boarded. My cousin uses a company called impulse creations (or atleast that is what it says on the box) and they come 2 times a month SA bagged and boarded with a 35% discount. He hasn't had anyproblems about damaged books.

I personally go the LCS route.
